Sunday, April 28 from 1 - 4 p.m. on Fourth Street in Downtown Bloomington

Parks and Recreation invites community groups, entertainers, food vendors and artists to join the International Festival by displaying and demonstrating works of art, offering a variety of food from across the globe, and hosting interactive spaces where visitors may explore other cultures.

The International Festival takes place April 28 from 1-4 p.m. on Fourth Street between Dunn and Grant Streets. Fourth Street will close to accommodate the International Festival.

Interested participants may apply online by April 12. There is no cost to participate.

The event is a celebration of Bloomington's people and an opportunity to use Bloomington's city streets to meet neighbors, learn more about local businesses and organizations, and experience diverse food and music.

According to event coordinator Leslie Brinson, Parks and Recreation seeks community groups, artisans, entertainers, and restaurants or food vendors to participate in the festival, interact with the community and bring unique flavors.

“Creating opportunities for the community to come together on city streets fosters a sense of community and inclusivity," Brinson said. "We are delighted with the success of previous events, and look forward to hosting activities that celebrate and educate about the diverse cultures represented in Bloomington."

Space for entertainment and activities is limited, and applications are accepted until all available spaces are filled.
